Earth-Moon space could become the new Strait of Hormuz

In the near future, the space between the Earth and the Moon could become as strategic as the Strait of Hormuz as, instead of blockades and ship seizures, we could witness the seizure of control of the routes to the Moon that lead to its strategic resources.
This scenario constitutes the hypothesis of experts from the Center for the Study of Space Crime, Piracy and Governance.
Further confirmation of the growing interest in space comes from the US Space Force, which recently announced the creation of an "ad hoc" office to assess the region's importance to warfare and national security.
"Just as the Strait of Hormuz is a narrow waterway, Earth-Moon space, while seemingly vast, actually contains several unique and exclusive transit points through which all traffic to the Moon must pass," notes Marc Feldman, executive director of the Center for the Study of Space Crime, Piracy, and Governance, in Space.com.
"If it were to fall into the wrong hands, all of NASA and Elon Musk's ongoing lunar initiatives - the first steps toward a trillion-dollar space economy - may have to be abandoned," he stressed.
