Artemis II Mission/ Astronaut recounts experience in space: It shocked me that

The four astronauts of the Artemis II mission have shared for the first time their experiences after returning from a record-breaking 10-day trip around the Moon, making history as the humans who have traveled the farthest from Earth.

At a special reception at NASA, at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, the crew consisting of Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen were greeted with applause and enthusiasm from the audience.

The astronauts traveled a distance of about 406,771 kilometers from Earth, a new record in the history of space exploration.

During their speeches, they shared the emotions and challenges experienced on this unique mission. Christina Koch, the only woman on the crew, highlighted a moment that had particularly touched her.

"People asked us what our impression was. It wasn't just the Earth that shocked me, but the endless darkness around it. It seemed like our planet was a ship suspended in the universe," she said.

The Artemis II mission is considered an important step towards returning humans to the Moon and beyond, opening a new chapter in space exploration.
