Details from the murder of Kevin Muharrem in Italy, the gun was stolen in 2024

Investigations into the murder of 25-year-old Kevin Muharremi continue intensively, as authorities shed light on the circumstances of the crime that occurred in the early hours of the morning of February 14 in Montecalvoli.

La Nazione  writes that the victim was a car wash worker and resident of Fucecchio, who was shot dead after a conflict that had started in a nightclub.

A 20-year-old Albanian man, Renato Xyke, is in custody for the incident and is accused of being the perpetrator of the murder. He has been questioned by investigators and has admitted to shooting, and is expected to be questioned again in the course of the investigation, due to new evidence and testimony collected.

According to preliminary investigations, five bullets were fired during the night with a semi-automatic Beretta 7.65 pistol, which turned out to have been stolen in 2024 in the Empolese Valdelsa area, from an apartment where it was legally kept. The circumstances of how the weapon ended up in the hands of the young man remain unclear. An autopsy has confirmed that one of the bullets hit the victim in the neck, causing his death. Investigators are also verifying whether there were previous conflicts between the victim and the perpetrator, beyond the argument that night.

At the time of the incident, the 20-year-old was not alone. He was driving a Range Rover Evoque and was accompanied by three other people. An 18-year-old is currently under investigation at large for complicity in the murder, but has denied involvement and stated that he had no knowledge of the weapon. The other two people are not under investigation.
