Massive forest fire engulfs Kukës, wind favors the spread of flames

A fire broke out this Saturday (March 21) in the forest massif of the place called "Suka e Mamëzit", in the Kolsh Administrative Unit, Kukës Municipality.

According to preliminary information from the Fire Service, the fire has engulfed a forest area, with dry grass, bushes and timber, mainly oak.

This is the first case of a fire this year in the high forest massifs of Kukes.

At this time, the causes of the fire are still unknown, while it is said that the Kukes Municipality Fire Service continues to work in difficult mountainous terrain to completely isolate the source.
