Cuba receives fourth shipment of aid from the US for victims of Hurricane

Holguín's Frank País García International Airport has received the fourth shipment of humanitarian aid from the United States, destined for families affected by Hurricane Melissa in eastern Cuba.

The flight carried 588 food packages and 585 personal hygiene kits, mainly destined for the communities of the Diocese of Bayamo-Manzanillo, in the province of Granma.
The shipment, according to the independent website CiberCuba, was accompanied by representatives of the American Catholic Church and is coordinated by Caritas Cuba, which will handle the distribution through a network of volunteers, parishes and local diocesan organizations.

Recipients will be selected based on vulnerability criteria, with priority given to single mothers with children, the elderly and people with disabilities. This new arrival is part of a series of shipments initiated by Florida following Hurricane Melissa, which hit the island last October, causing severe damage in the eastern provinces.
