Ukraine launches "Flamingos" towards Russia, Zelensky: Moscow is cynical, asks for a ceasefire and then attacks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned Russia's cynicism, as he said, for continuing to carry out deadly attacks despite calling for a ceasefire, A2CNN writes.
Russia, which is preparing to mark Victory Day in World War II this weekend, announced a ceasefire in the war on May 8 and 9 and threatened massive missile strikes on central Kiev if Ukraine violated it.
But Kiev made it clear that it would respect an indefinite ceasefire from midnight on May 6 and that Ukraine would act “symmetrically” from that moment on. As the parties to the conflict announced these moves, five people were killed and dozens injured in a mix of drone and missile attacks.
“ It is sheer cynicism to demand silence to hold propaganda celebrations and undertake such missile and drone strikes every day in advance ,” Zelensky said. He called on Moscow to lay down its arms and move towards real diplomacy.
On the eve of its own ceasefire coming into effect at midnight, Ukraine launched a series of attacks on Russia, hitting an industrial zone in Kirishi in the Leningrad region and a factory producing military equipment in Cheboksary. Zelensky said domestically produced Flamingo cruise missiles were used to hit the factory, 1,500 km from the front.
An unverified video overnight showed a fast-moving object and a large explosion. The Russian ministry later confirmed it had shot down 3 Flamingo missiles and 601 drones.
