Study: Eating kiwi improves mood in just 4 days

A new study shows that eating kiwi can have a rapid and noticeable effect on improving mood and vitality. The team of researchers from the University of Otago in New Zealand developed an 8-week dietary regimen with 155 adults who had low levels of vitamin C.
Participants were divided into three groups: those taking vitamin C supplements, those taking a placebo, and those eating two kiwis a day. During the study period, participants reported on their energy levels, mood, sleep quality, and physical activity through mobile surveys.
The results, published in the British Journal of Nutrition , showed that consuming kiwi improved mood and energy within just 4 days, with the peak effect occurring after 14-16 days. In comparison, vitamin C supplements showed a slower effect, only becoming apparent after the 12th day.
Experts explain that kiwi is a very rich natural source of vitamin C, but in addition to improving mood, it has other well-known properties. It helps improve digestion, increases iron absorption, helps with skin radiance, and is a good source of folic acid, essential for pregnant women.
This latest discovery suggests that a simple diet, rich in fruits like kiwi, can positively impact mental and physical health naturally, offering a healthy alternative to traditional supplements.
