Analyst Enton Abilekaj spoke about the tragedy in Durrës, where two children were killed and a third was injured by a drunk driver.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, Abilekaj raised the police's concern that even though residents had reported the author's problematic behavior, there had been no reaction. The analyst said that the degradation of the state is now also degrading society, which feels powerless.
"Talking about the vices of Albanians is easy, but the case raises questions. We have three children playing on the sidewalk, because they have nowhere to play. A wide street, but without enough sidewalks. Residents who complain about a person passing at high speed but are not heard, a tragic accident that after it happens, the person does not go to the police but to a friend of his, a local authority. To find the real culprits, where they come from, we must ask the questions, why are the children playing on the sidewalk? Who is to blame?
How dare this man go out drinking and get drunk, take his car and drive back, despite residents complaining to the police? Why doesn't the police intervene? Why does he see it as an opportunity to make money?
Even society gives up when it sees that there are only links to corruption.
"Complete degradation of the state, and then society also degrades. The strong, with the defenseless, is in a big difference," declared Abilekaj.
