The head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, announced a review of the Albanian Criminal Code, following the tragic accident in Durrës, emphasizing that current punishments are not sufficient for such serious cases.
He emphasized that the institutional response must be immediate, as soon as opportunities for legal changes are created, while calling on the State Police for a more in-depth analysis of traffic violation cases.
"Review of the Criminal Code, it is difficult for us to be satisfied with removing points on the license. The US has established a concept of murder in conditions of excessive self-confidence. Our response must be immediate as soon as we have the opportunity to change the Code. The police should analyze the cases very carefully.
"The strongmen of the neighborhoods should be made an example of and not even have a license. These should be made an example of by the police in every community," he said.
