A 26-year-old man has been arrested in flagrante delicto by police on the Elbasan-Tirana road, after being caught transporting suspected contraband clothing worth around 45,000 euros in a van.
The operation codenamed "Wrong way" led to the seizure of the goods and the vehicle, while investigations continue for other people involved.

He was transporting various suspected smuggled clothing worth around 45,000 euros in a van. He was caught red-handed on the "Elbasan-Tirana" road and the 26-year-old was arrested.
The clothing and the van were seized. Specialists of the Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Section of the Tirana Police Department, in continuation of their work to prevent, identify and crack down on criminal activity in the field of goods smuggling, based on information obtained in operational channels, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Wrong way".
As a result of this operation, citizen RK, 26 years old, resident of Korça, was arrested.
This citizen was caught red-handed by the Police services, on the "Elbasan-Tirana" road axis, transporting 19 packages (bags) of imitation clothing of various brands, without accompanying documentation, in a van.
Investigations are ongoing to document this illegal activity and identify other citizens who may be involved.
The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action.
