"Kill me, I don't deserve to live.", this is how the 57-year-old man who caused the tragic accident this Sunday afternoon in Durres, where two children lost their lives, while another is in critical condition at the Trauma Hospital, is said to have begun his testimony before the police.
Nikollë Radaçi was questioned twice by the investigation team, after initially being in a serious psychological state and under the influence of alcohol. He is suspected of having stated that he was drunk at the time of the accident and that he does not remember anything from the event, while expressing shock at the serious consequences.
According to sources, the 57-year-old had become a constant concern for residents of the area, who had filed several complaints with the police for driving at high speed and while intoxicated. In fact, just the day before, a resident had narrowly avoided an accident with his minor nephew.
It is learned that he had been punished by the police before, and on two occasions his driving license was revoked due to drunk driving.
