"I love you, this is not justice"/ Albanian woman watches her

A woman, identified by the media as a Kosovo Albanian, was present during the final moments of her husband's life in the US, bursting into tears and calling out " I love you " during the execution.

James Broadnax , 37, was executed by lethal injection in a Texas prison after being found guilty of murdering two Christian music producers in Dallas in 2008.

According to American media, his wife,  Tiana Krasniqi , 31, watched the proceedings from the witness box and shouted " I love you " as she watched the scene through the glass.

After the execution, she reacted on social media, accusing US authorities of the way the sentence was carried out. In a TikTok post, Krasniqi wrote, “They killed my husband,” claiming that the process was painful and grueling, with blood and bruises, and raising the question: “Is this justice?”

Just days before the execution, the couple was married inside the Allan B. Polunsky Unit in Texas. They had met in 2024 through letters, while Krasniqi, a law graduate and student of International Human Rights in London, had begun research on racial disparities in the American justice system.

Broadnax was convicted of the murders of Stephen Swan and Matthew Butler. Later, a cousin of his claimed responsibility for the crime, but this statement was not considered sufficient to stop the execution.

The event has reignited debates over the death penalty in the US and its implementation, an issue that continues to cause strong reactions in public opinion and international media./ The Dallas Morning News
