The Gjirokastra Police have clarified the circumstances of the serious incident that occurred on the evening of April 21, 2026 in Memaliaj, where as a result of the use of firearms, citizen Endri Goxhaj was killed and citizen Dali Nela was injured.
Preliminary investigations show that the physical conflict involved several people, including Endri Goxhaj, Donald Nela, Marjaldo Nela, Aldo Kalemi JK and GQ.
During the clash, it is suspected that Endri Goxhaj fired a gun at Dali Nela, who was injured and is out of danger under the care of doctors among several people.
Then, the two brothers Donald Nela, 29 years old, and Marjaldo Nela, 28 years old, who were wanted, are suspected of having fired a gun at Endri Goxhaj, who died during transportation to the hospital.
Citizens Dali Nela and Aldo Kalemi were arrested for the criminal offenses of "Intentional murder, committed in collaboration" and "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition."
Citizen Ermal Mataj was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense of "Actions that hinder the discovery of the truth"
The police have seized as material evidence a pistol with a cartridge in the chamber, combat ammunition, two vehicles, two motorcycles, four cell phones and other items found at the scene, which are expected to assist in the continuation of the investigation.
The procedural materials have been referred to the Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office for further action, while work continues to capture the wanted persons.
