Alarm in Finland/Unidentified drone violates airspace near the border with

An unidentified drone is suspected of entering Finnish airspace on the morning of May 3, in the Virolahti area, near the border with Russia.

According to the Finnish Ministry of Defense, the drone was spotted by the Air Force in the early hours of the day.

It is not yet known what model it is or where it came from, and since then it has not been in Finnish airspace. The case is being investigated by the border guard, but with few details made public.

Finland has a long border with Russia, about 1,340 kilometers, and such cases receive great attention due to the security situation in the region.

At the same time, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that 334 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight in several regions of the country, including areas near St. Petersburg, not far from the border with Finland.

This is not the first time such incidents have occurred. In March, Ukraine apologized after two of its drones crashed in southern Finland after going off course.

Other European countries have also previously reported suspected cases of airspace violations.
