Spanish Prime Minister's plane makes emergency landing in Ankara, technical fault during flight to Armenia

The government plane carrying Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has made an emergency landing in Ankara en route to Armenia.

According to data from the Spanish government, the cause of the flight diversion was an unexpected technical problem on the plane. The crew made the decision to land as a safety measure.

The plane landed safely and no injuries were reported.

The Spanish delegation is currently in Ankara, where procedures for such situations are being followed and technical checks on the aircraft are being carried out.

Authorities are working to fix the defect and enable the continuation of the journey to Armenia as soon as complete safety is confirmed.

Pedro Sánchez was on his way to attend the European Political Community Summit, where issues of regional cooperation, security and energy are discussed.
