"Drones can fly over Red Square"/ Zelensky rejects Russian proposal for one-day ceasefire on May 9

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has dismissed as "not serious" a proposal for a one-day ceasefire in the war with Russia, saying Kiev has not yet received an official offer.
His reaction comes after the Kremlin announced that a possible ceasefire, discussed between the Russian and American presidents, would be linked to May 9 - the day Russia marks the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.
Meanwhile, this year's Victory Day in Moscow is set to be different from tradition. For the first time in two decades, Russian authorities have announced that there will be no tanks or missile systems in the military parade, an important symbol of the country's military power.
Zelensky, speaking at a meeting of the European Political Community in Yerevan, left open the possibility of drone strikes on Russian territory that day.
"Russia has announced a parade on May 9 in Moscow without military equipment. They can't afford it – and they're afraid that drones might fly over Red Square," he said.
The statements point to heightened tensions on the eve of a symbolic date for Russia, while the prospect of a ceasefire, even temporary, remains unclear.
