The situation in the Strait of Hormuz has escalated again and appears to be heading towards an all-out war. The US Central Command also announced that it had “eliminated six Iranian vessels” that were interfering with commercial shipping. These statements have been described as “false” by Iranian authorities.

In recent developments, Iran announced that it had fired two missiles at a US Navy destroyer to prevent it from passing through the strait. A South Korean ship was also hit, and the Seoul government has launched an investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has threatened to destroy Iran if an American ship is hit.

Iranian state television reported that Iran "had no intention of striking the United Arab Emirates," citing an unidentified senior official.

The US military "destroyed" six small Iranian boats in the Strait of Hormuz today after Tehran launched "multiple cruise missiles, drones and small boats" at US Navy ships and merchant vessels that were "protected" by the US military, the head of US Central Command, Admiral Bradley Cooper, told reporters.

Tensions in the Strait of Hormuz continue to rise after several recent incidents, where a South Korean ship was involved in an accident and Iran claimed to have hit a US destroyer, claims that Washington has denied. According to US media, US forces have been authorized to hit Iranian Revolutionary Guard speedboats if necessary, while Iran has warned that there are other scenarios that could be activated.

A major fire has broken out at the port of Fujairah, one of the main oil storage and export facilities in the United Arab Emirates, according to local authorities. The Fujairah Government Media Office announced on social media that civil defense teams were engaged in efforts to bring the flames under control and prevent them from spreading to nearby areas.

A South Korean merchant ship sailing near the Strait of Hormuz was attacked on Monday and caught fire, Korean media reported, citing a Seoul government official. According to South Korea's Foreign Ministry, the government is still verifying the attack, but an initial check has confirmed that there were no casualties among South Korean nationals.

Thousands of citizens in Dubai received an urgent security alert on their mobile phones this afternoon, raising concerns about a possible missile threat. The message, sent in English and Arabic, warned that “due to the current situation, there is a possibility of missile threats” and urged citizens to immediately seek shelter in the nearest safe building.
