Witkoff confirms to the media: US is in talks with Iran

US special envoy Steve Witkoff stated that the United States is currently "in conversation" with Iran, signaling a possibility of resuming negotiations between the two countries.
In an exclusive statement to CNN, Witkoff confirmed that diplomatic contacts are underway, although without providing concrete details on the progress or content of the discussions.
He was recently seen in the company of US President Donald Trump during a golf event at the Doral club, where he was asked by reporters about the current state of the dialogue with Tehran. "We are in talks," he said briefly.
On the other hand, a spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that the United States has responded to the latest proposal presented by Iran and that authorities in Tehran are reviewing this response.
Recent developments suggest an intensification of diplomatic efforts after a period of stalemate, but President Trump has remained skeptical. In a post on social media, he said he could not imagine the Iranian proposal would be acceptable, adding that “they have not yet paid a high enough price for what they have done to humanity.”
Meanwhile, it remains unclear whether these talks will lead to a concrete agreement, but recent signals point to a new opening in the dialogue between the two countries.
