A farce that is sold as a battle!
Sali Berisha is entering the May 23 elections alone. Without rivals. Without real competition. But most importantly: without the promise of victory. Berisha himself says it. With Edi Rama, you can't win. Because, according to him, the vote is stolen. He says his mission is to "protect the vote". But Rama steals that too.
Then stop for a moment.
If it's not won... why enter the race?
If the vote is stolen... why do you want to be president?
How can a mission be "to protect the vote"... when you yourself say you can't protect it?
This is not a strategy. It is capitulation packaged as a cause.
Albania today is no longer in crisis, it is more than that. It is in a complete deformation of the system. Corruption is no longer hidden, it screams. Abuse is not justified, because it has become an institution. How can a party that SPAKU has already delegitimized with accusations at high levels stay in power? How can a government stay in power without getting a thorn in its side, while scandals such as: Akshi, incinerators, roads, luxury abuses, are obvious. So what needs to happen for the opposition to inspire? If these things happen and the opposition does not inspire, there is a problem.
Does Sali Berisha inspire today, in the face of Rama's corruption?
The essential question is this:
Is Sali Berisha the man who can restore hope to Albanians?
When he himself says "I don't win", the answer is given by him.
And here comes the other tragedy: The Democratic Party is not empty. There are people. There are figures. There are capacities. But there is no courage. There is no voice that tells its leader: stop. Enough. Change course.
Because the cost is clear: whoever speaks up gets burned. Whoever challenges gets excluded. Whoever thinks differently gets politically eliminated.
And meanwhile, outside this closed "game", there is the real Albania.
There are people who wait for medicine and can't find it. There are pensioners who count their money for bread. There are young people who leave because they don't see a future. They don't have the luxury of political games. They pay the bill.
If the opposition enters a race that it itself calls a loss, then we no longer have an opposition. We have an alibi. A mechanism that keeps a status quo alive, where everyone supports each other and no one pays the costs.
And this is more dangerous than any electoral manipulation.
Because it's no longer a matter of vote theft. It's a matter of a lack of will to win.
These are not the words of a militant.
Not from someone who is bought. Not from someone who expects favors. But from a journalist who covers developments in the opposition. From a journalist who does not fall prey to propaganda and does not have ties to the threads of power.
These are words from someone who sees what happens on the ground every day.
And one thing is clear:
Albania no longer has time for leaders who enter the race without believing they can win.
Because the leader doesn't pay, Albania and the Albanians pay, who today have an opposition that doesn't inspire.
Happening now...
