There comes a point in political life when a person is no longer the protagonist of their own destiny. They no longer make decisions; they are imposed on them by dynamics, by alliances, by the fear of being left out. At that point, you are no longer an actor — you are simply a role, and roles, unlike people, are easily replaced.
I have known that moment. I have felt what it means to be part of a game where you are used, exploited, and where you no longer set the rules yourself. You are at a point where you think about revenge, you think about how to vent your anger and resentment, and you feel the ingratitude on your shoulders. But it was precisely in those moments that I realized that the most important battle is not with your political opponent, but with yourself, with the ability to say “stop” before it is too late.
Today, you are right on that edge. You see that you are being used. You feel that you are not gaining anything real. But you still cannot break away, and this is the point where the real decline begins because political decline does not begin when you lose an election. It begins when you lose clarity.
When, to justify a wrong choice, you start producing false narratives. When, to stay in the game, you agree to become part of a scenario that no longer represents you. At this point, politics is no longer a tool to change reality; it becomes a mechanism to survive within it.
Therefore, this is no longer a moment of choice. It is a moment of reflection. Politics does not end when your opponents attack you. It ends when you lose peace with yourself and continue to stay in a game where you are simply a tool. The political end does not always come with noise; it comes in silence, at that moment when you realize that you are still there, but you are no longer anyone.
