Serious family crime, 49-year-old man executed with a gun by his brother, perpetrator arrested! First suspicions about the motive

A person has been killed in the village of Bokshiq in Klina, the Basic Prosecution Office in Peja and the Kosovo Police announced.

The suspected perpetrator has been arrested. The incident, according to the report, occurred at 3:00 PM, and upon receiving the information, the Police went to the scene and realized that a person had been injured by gunfire.

"The victim was taken to the Peja Regional Hospital for medical treatment, but as a result of the serious injuries, the victim lost his life. The victim's death was confirmed by the attending physician from the Peja Regional Hospital," the statement said, according to REL.

Meanwhile, through a separate announcement, the Peja Hospital said that the victim, born in 1977, arrived at the hospital without signs of life at around 3:30 PM.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and has been taken into custody for 48 hours on suspicion of the criminal offense of "aggravated murder."

Previously, the Police said that the suspected perpetrator is the victim's brother and the murder occurred after a family dispute between them.

Authorities said a weapon, suspected of being used in the case, and other evidence were seized at the scene.

This is the second murder this week, after earlier in the week, one person was killed in Gjakova and another was injured. The suspect surrendered to the police a few hours after the incident.

In recent years, a number of cases of gun violence have been recorded in Kosovo, which have also led to murder.

Thousands of illegal firearms are estimated to be in the hands of Kosovo citizens. Experts argue that their confiscation is necessary in order to reduce the number of armed incidents.
