11 million euros budget for 10 days of campaign, CEC drafts plan for June 7 elections in Kosovo

The Central Election Commission of Kosovo has approved the official election campaign period for the early parliamentary elections of June 7, 2026. It will start on May 28, 2026 and end on June 7, 2026 at 06:59, lasting a total of 10 days and 7 hours.
For the organization of these elections, the CEC has approved a budget of 10,887,186.45 euros. Violeta Salihu, member of the CEC, emphasized that these expenses were planned according to the requests of the respective units and were approved by the Council for Budget and Finance.
She announced that the expenses have been divided into different categories. Salaries and allowances will be spent at 221 thousand euros, goods and services will amount to 10,621 euros, while utility expenses and non-financial assets will have the respective values of 32 thousand and 13 thousand euros.
As for the diaspora registration, it will last 12 days, from May 6 to May 17, 2026. Voting by mail will take place from May 25 to June 6, 2026, while voting at diplomatic missions will be held on June 6 from 07:00 to 19:00.
According to the activity plan approved by the CEC: The declaration of political parties for participation or non-participation in the elections and for the formation of coalitions takes place from May 1 to May 7, 2026.
The application for certification of political entities (including coalitions, civic initiatives and independent candidates) takes place from May 2 to May 10, 2026, while the submission of lists of candidates for deputies takes place from May 2 to May 12, 2026.
The Central Election Commission of Kosovo will decide on the certification of political entities by May 10, 2026, and for candidates by May 15, 2026. The draw for the ranking of political entities on the ballot will be held on May 16, 2026.
