Deadline for 53 parties in Kosovo to participate in the elections, CEC: Notify by May 7

All political parties currently registered in Kosovo are obliged to notify the CEC of their participation or non-participation in the early elections to be held on June 7, 2026.
CEC spokesperson, Valmir Elezi, explained that the notification of participation or non-participation in the elections is for the 53 political parties that are currently registered and active in Kosovo.
"All political parties registered in Kosovo are obliged to notify the CEC within a period of 7 days, i.e. from May 1 to May 7, of their participation or non-participation in the early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo. This obligation applies only to the 53 political parties that are currently part of the register of political parties in Kosovo, i.e. not to political entities that want to participate in the elections as citizens' initiatives or independent candidates , " Elezi announced.
In the regular parliamentary elections of February 2025, 28 political entities participated, of which 20 political parties, 5 coalitions, 2 civic initiatives and 1 independent candidate.
Meanwhile, in the early parliamentary elections held at the end of December, 24 political entities competed, of which 18 political parties, 3 coalitions, 2 civic initiatives and 1 independent candidate.
