The elections for the leader of the DP will be with a single candidate, Sali Berisha. During today's meeting with the Democrats in Dibër, Berisha argued with the fact that there is competition, but the candidates do not meet the criteria. He chose to speak only about the candidacy of doctor Merema Sela, since according to him the other candidacies were not part of the DP at all.

Regarding Sela, he said that in the previous race in Durrës she had received only 43 votes, and according to him, her inclusion in the race for the leader of the DP would make this process ridiculous, while after being excluded from the race she warned that she and Berisha "will be seen in court."

"They say that the DP does not hold elections, the DP is holding elections and holding elections of the highest class, one member, one vote. Elections with one candidate? Yes, the truth is that 90% and more of those who hold elections with one member, one vote are with one candidate, because those who have weight and are not sure of victory, do not accept to enter, but to enter the race you will have to meet certain criteria, otherwise the race becomes ridiculous.

"We are taking the case of Merem, because the others are not in the DP at all... Merem is in the DP, he ran a race and received 43 votes, bravo to him for running in the Durrës district. For Merem to run to lead you and the Democrats, there must be some other evidence because it is a ridiculous race and such a race does not honor you," said Berisha.

"I was in Zagreb, Meremja and the vuvuzelas came out: Flamur Noka put it in. But Noka and the commission said it doesn't meet the criteria," he added further.
