Defamation case, hearing for Erion Braça held at GJKKO

The process has begun at the GJKKO with the accused party MP Erjon Brace and the injured party Anduel Çekrezi, for a court case related to defamation, following the public statements and posts on social networks of the MP regarding a property conflict in the Imshtë area, in Lushnje.
The prosecutor in the case, Ols Dado, was present, as the special court accepted Top Channel's request to follow the session on camera.
"This trial did not arise as a political debate. The victim is not presented as a public figure but as a citizen seeking to exercise his rights. In a democratic society like ours, the citizen must be protected and when the tendency is that the statements of a deputy are based on proven facts. Mr. Anduel Çekrezi and his brother have full property titles, issued by Albanian institutions and not proven in court. The accused declares that the IMSH has emerged as the owner, that the owners take the river land and this is a discriminatory accusation. The narrative is created that Çekrezi is not the owner but the beneficiary of public property. The declaration turns out to be untrue ," said Anduel Çekrezi's lawyer.
Çekrez's lawyer requested that the court declare Erion Braçe guilty.
