Prime Minister Edi Rama, this afternoon, held a meeting with olive oil processing entrepreneurs in Berat, where there was a clash with two of those present.
During today's meeting, discussions focused on increasing wages in agriculture, investments, tax relief and other support schemes for this sector, with the aim of achieving a production standard that is also marketable in the European Union.
A question asked by one of the citizens regarding the lack of a laboratory where oil analysis is performed provoked the prime minister, who for the umpteenth time told those present that he has no responsibility for the Berat area.
As the Prime Minister spoke about the success of oil production in Berat over the years, one of those present highlighted the difficulties they encounter in the oil production activity.
"For the sake of work, we need to have a laboratory to conduct analyses in Berat," said one of the entrepreneurs from today's meeting.
Here Rama responded to the resident by informing him that the unification of all olive oil production points strengthens their work, so entrepreneurs do not have many obstacles.
"Now the unity you have made makes you strong in this regard as well. So as you are together, the cycle you have created between you makes the laboratory itself. You don't go to the laboratory, the laboratory comes to you. It seems to me that Mr. Demo said that the laboratory is part of the project," Rama replied to the citizen.
Another citizen intervened and countered Rama that the merger of businesses cannot be realized without the support of the government, a reaction that caused irritation in the prime minister.
