Why is the DP keeping the Balluk file secret? Berisha is justified: We are protecting the repentant from justice!

DP leader Sali Berisha, referring to the procedures, appeared today at the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

Berisha was arrested in accordance with the security measure "compulsory appearance" imposed on him. During the conversation with journalists, Berisha responded to journalist Klodiana Lala, as the latter asked him why the DP is keeping the 'Balluku' file secret. He said that he is not releasing the file's data due to the failure to disclose witnesses, those who have evaded justice.

"In that 'Balluku' file, I guarantee you that if Sali Berisha were the plaintiff, I would make it secret (public), But here I am a party. I am obliged. I do not ask my colleagues. There are witnesses, collaborators of justice and I will never accept under any circumstances that they are betrayed. They are precious people. Despite the fact that they have made mistakes. They have called themselves and found a humane side in themselves and serve the people with their testimony. Those who demand that we bring out the repentant ones of justice, are mistaken because we will never do it. We are for full and total support of the investigations. How do you say I bring out the collaborators of justice for the first time?! I know I said it, Klodiana. There are repentant ones of justice, I am not for bringing them out, but I am for their protection," he said.

Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha faces charges of corruption, while his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, and businessman Fatmir Bektashi are accused of involvement in corruption and illegal money laundering activities.

Meanwhile, the prosecution has filed charges against the other two defendants, Xhimi Begeja, a partner of Malltez, and Andia Pustina, a financier at the company "Homeplan", for involvement in money laundering schemes.
