16-year-old referee awarded penalty, fans attack her family!

A serious episode of violence has occurred during a match of the U17 girls' championship in the Turin area, Italy. A penalty awarded in the last minutes has caused a strong reaction from the local fans, many of whom were parents of the players on the pitch. According to local media, the match took place in Venaria and ended with a score of 4-3 in favor of Torino, thanks to the goal scored from the decisive penalty.
After the final whistle, the situation got out of control. Some fans of the home team tried to enter the field by climbing over the nets, while their daughters tried to stop them, asking them to stop their shameful behavior.
The 16-year-old referee was escorted to the locker room by a local club official, but the most serious incident occurred in the stands. Her family members, including her younger brother, were there. They were first verbally and then physically attacked by fans. The referee's mother was insulted and pushed, while her father, who intervened to protect her, was punched and left with a cut on his lip.
The family was forced to take shelter in the locker rooms and notify the carabinieri, as the local club's management reportedly failed to do so despite requests. To avoid escalating the situation, they left the sports center before the police arrived.
Sports judge Armando Francia imposed a fine of 400 euros on the Venaria club, noting that the incident created fear, tension and panic for the referee and her family. However, the measure was partially mitigated due to the players' efforts to calm the fans.
On the other hand, the president of the Venaria club, Giovanni Pasquale, strongly condemned any form of violence, describing the incident as unacceptable. He expressed solidarity with the referee and her family and stressed that the club is based on values such as respect and fairness. According to him, measures have been taken against the responsible persons and initiatives will be taken to prevent similar cases in the future. / Shqip
