Ferguson rushed to hospital, was at Old Trafford to watch Manchester United-Liverpool

Sir Alex Ferguson was rushed to hospital today after feeling unwell ahead of Manchester United's clash with Liverpool.

The 84-year-old was at Old Trafford for the match between the Premier League rivals when it turned out that he needed to undergo some medical checks.

Ferguson was taken to hospital by ambulance, with United officials reportedly optimistic he could return home.

The legendary former coach thus lost the Manchester United challenge that secured a return to the Champions League.

Carrick's team took a big win over Liverpool. The "Red Devils" triumphed 3-2 at home, confirming that they are the most in-form team after Manchester City and Arsenal in the Premier League.
