The Criminal Court of Kosovo rejects Jorgo Goro's request for suspension of the execution of the sentence and return to prison

Jorgo Goro has failed to suspend the execution of his sentence, after the Special Court rejected the request submitted to postpone the implementation of the criminal decision.

The request was filed on March 31, 2026 with the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, where the former mayor requested the suspension of the execution of decision no. 53, dated 30.07.2025.

He was found guilty of the criminal offense of "abuse of office", committed in collaboration and on more than one occasion, under Articles 248 and 25 of the Criminal Code.

Initially, the court sentenced him to 2 years in prison, but upon application of summary judgment, the sentence was reduced to:

Also, based on Article 35 of the Criminal Code, Goro has been banned from exercising public functions for 5 years.

The panel, led by Judge Etleva Deda, decided:

Rejection of Jorgo Goro's request as unfounded in law and evidence

Upholding the previous criminal decision

Charging him with legal costs

The court emphasizes that this decision can be appealed within the legal deadlines to the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime.
