The aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford is expected to temporarily return to port after a fire on board, US officials said.
The carrier, the largest in the world, is currently in the Red Sea and is deployed in operations against Iran.
Officials said the ship will dock in Souda Bay on the Greek island of Crete, but did not say how long it is expected to remain there.
The ship has been in the country for nine months, including participating in operations against Venezuela before arriving in the Middle East.
