"I will not deploy troops to Iran," Trump criticizes allies: Japan will take steps in conflict, unlike NATO

US President Donald Trump stated during a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi that Japan will take steps in the war against Iran, unlike NATO, criticizing the alliance.

The US president also said: "I will not deploy troops anywhere – and if I did, I would not tell you."

He continued to call the conflict "an excursion," adding that it "will end very soon."

Speaking of Iran, he added: “Their navy is gone, their air force is gone, their anti-aircraft equipment is gone, we are flying wherever we want… their leadership is gone.”

"I had to take this little excursion and do something that no other president had the courage to do," he emphasized.
