15 Albanians sentenced to 32 years in prison for 'barn house' in England, 6 plead not guilty

Fifteen Albanian citizens were sentenced to prison yesterday, December 17, after uncovering a large cannabis farm inside a warehouse in central Liverpool.
The incident was discovered on Saturday evening, October 4, when police officers noticed a man acting suspiciously on Kitchen Street.
Although no drugs were found on him during the search, a strong smell of cannabis emanated from him. Investigations later led to the discovery of a large farm with more than 650 cannabis plants, divided into five cultivation rooms, most of which were ready to be harvested.
21 men were arrested at the scene and charged with being involved in the manufacture of a controlled Class B drug. Yesterday, 15 of these Albanians pleaded guilty and were sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court, with sentences ranging from 1 year and 1 month to 3 years in prison. All will be subject to deportation upon completion of their sentences.
The investigation, led by Constable Tom Stretton, was described as long and complex. He said: "This was a sophisticated criminal group that was manufacturing and supplying drugs in Merseyside. Our investigation is ongoing to identify those at the top of the chain."
He emphasized that organized crime harms communities, often through intimidation and violence, and that perpetrators act solely for their own criminal and property interests.
