Italy/ Albanian truck driver dies while working at the port of Trieste

An Albanian truck driver, around 60 years old, passed away on Tuesday evening at the Cattinara Hospital in Trieste, Italy.
The victim was in the Italian city for work reasons, and his identity has not yet been made public by authorities.
According to Italian media , the Albanian driver fell ill while carrying out routine procedures at the port of Legnami after customs officers returned some documents. After a subsequent check, port technicians found the driver unconscious inside his vehicle.
Efforts were immediately made to extricate him from the truck, a difficult process due to his body. Once he was extricated, emergency services intervened and managed to temporarily revive him with specialized interventions, but his condition was critical at the scene.
The driver was intubated and rushed to the Trieste hospital, where he sadly passed away shortly after arrival. The cause of death remains unclear, while authorities have launched an investigation and are awaiting the results of the forensic examination.
