SPAK deepens investigations into MP Tërmet Peçi: Corruption, money laundering and fixed tenders

SPAK is conducting intensive investigations against socialist MP Tërmet Peçi. Lawyer Adriana Kalaja published a letter, where the Special Prosecution Office informs her that it is investigating the former mayor of Tepelena for three serious criminal offenses: corruption, money laundering and violation of equality in tenders. SPAK has merged two criminal proceedings against Tërmet Peçi, one of which was filed by Adriana Kalaja and one proceeding is suspected to have been registered after the investigation of the Plug show, which denounced the 5D scheme of the former mayor of Tepelena.

SPAK seems to have deepened the investigation into the former mayor and current socialist MP of Tepelena, Tërmet Peçi. Lawyer Adriana Kalaja, who has submitted a criminal report to the Special Prosecutor's Office for Tërmet Peçi, published a letter in which SPAK informs her about the progress of the investigation. According to the letter, SPAK states that it is investigating Tërmet Peçi for three serious criminal offenses, "violation of equality in tenders, passive corruption and money laundering. Not only that, but the prosecutor in the case, now elected as the new head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, has merged the criminal report filed by Adriana Kalaja with another report, the latter registered on May 2, 2025.

The suspicions are that the existing complaint may have been registered mainly by SPAK after the broadcast of the investigation by the Plug in the Eye TV show, which revealed that Tërmet Peçi, together with his directors, had created a 5D scheme, benefiting from over 66 million euros in public tenders, or funds from IPARd programs for the construction of slaughterhouses and agro-tourism.

A few weeks ago, Tërmet Peçi was summoned to SPAK for questioning, while in the letter published by lawyer KAlaja, prosecutor Klodjan Braho states that the socialist deputy has been questioned for another investigation. This suggests that investigations are also underway against Tërmet Peçi for other criminal proceedings, which are suspected of being related to abuse of office during the time the socialist deputy headed the Tepelena Municipality.
