Serious accident with 3 Albanians dead in Greece, Bulgarian driver arrested

The Bulgarian truck driver who caused a tragic accident on Monday on the Egnatia highway, near the Iasmos toll booth in Rhodope, Greece, where three Albanian citizens lost their lives, has been arrested .

After being released from the hospital a few days ago, the 56-year-old appeared before the investigating judge today. His testimony did not convince the judge and prosecutor, who decided to keep him in custody.

The driver is charged with negligent homicide resulting in the death of several people, bodily harm, and dangerous driving.

Authorities are awaiting the results of toxicology tests to determine whether he had consumed alcohol at the time of the accident.
