A Colombian police helicopter crashed during an operation against drug trafficking groups after being hit, apparently, by a drone laden with explosives.
According to authorities and President Gustavo Petro himself, the attack left at least eight dead and several injured.
The governor of the department of Antioquia, Andrés Julián Rendón, said the attack occurred in a rural area of the municipality of Amalfi and that the downed helicopter was taking part in an operation to eradicate cocaine crops.
