Bayern secures huge sum from contract renewal with Deutsche Telekom

German champions Bayern Munich and Deutsche Telekom have renewed their partnership.

Before the start of the 63rd Bundesliga season, with the home match against Leipzig this evening at the Allianz Arena, the extension of the cooperation until 2032 was announced.

Deutsche Telekom, in the role of main sponsor and shirt sponsor, will pay the Bavarians over 60 million euros per year.

“30 years with Telekom, all that remains for me is to thank you for your commitment,” declared Herbert Hainer, president of the Bayern Supervisory Board.

While the club's CEO, Jan-Christian Dreesen, added: "If I could express one wish, it would be that our marriage would last beyond 2032."

The partnership between Bayern and Telekom began in the 2002/03 season.

"Good friends cannot be separated. The T will be on the jerseys for another seven years," said Rodrigo Diehl, a member of the board of Telekom Germany.

According to Michael Hagspihl, the company's senior vice president, Bayern's extensive media exposure is extremely important for the brand.

Also, the Club World Cup, held this summer in the USA, proved to be a valuable springboard for the company with international activity.
