Migrant boat capsizes, 12 people drown off the coast of Spain

Another tragedy has occurred in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, where several migrants have lost their lives after a boat capsized.
It was reported that at least 12 migrants from Maghreb countries have been declared missing, after being thrown into the sea from a boat sailing towards the Balearic Islands.
Spanish authorities intervened and managed to rescue 14 people from the boat, which was located about 58 kilometers southwest of the island of Cabrera.
Rescue teams have announced that they have not been able to find any trace of the missing migrants. Investigations have been opened to identify the missing persons.
Meanwhile, according to Spain's Interior Ministry, the number of migrants arriving in the Balearic Islands from North Africa has increased significantly this year.
As of August 15, 4,323 arrivals have been recorded, compared to 2,443 in the same period last year — a 77% increase.
