Author of 12 thefts in Italy, Albanian arrested in Spain, extradited to Milan

A 36-year-old Albanian, wanted for at least 12 house burglaries, has been extradited from Spain to Italy and was handed over yesterday morning at Milan Linate airport by Spanish authorities.

A European arrest warrant was issued for the 36-year-old, issued by the Milan Prosecutor's Office, for the criminal offenses of participation in a criminal organization, burglary in apartments and trafficking in stolen goods.

The investigations, conducted by the Milan Investigation Unit (Squadra Mobile), began after the discovery of a high-value stolen vehicle, which was allegedly used by the group for movement during the thefts.

During the month of November 2024 alone, the group is accused of at least 12 thefts, documented through operational surveillance and environmental interceptions inside used vehicles.

In December 2024, two of the group's members, also Albanian citizens, were captured in the province of Monza Brianza, while the third managed to escape and was declared an international wanted man. After more than eight months on the run, he was located and arrested in Spain.

Upon arrival in Italy, the Border Police at Linate notified him of the arrest warrant, and the Albanian was escorted to the Monza prison, where he will face Italian justice.
