
Scandal in Italy, iron content discovered in mozzarella, ministry orders urgent withdrawal from the market

The Italian Ministry of Health has ordered the urgent withdrawal of 5 types of mozzarella from the market, due to suspicions over the presence of metals in the product.
The official announcement states that consumers should not use the product, but return the packages to the point of sale where they were purchased.
The suspected products are of the Conad, Carrefour, Penny Market and Latbri brands, manufactured by the Granarolo company, at its centers in Usmate Velate, province of Monza and Brianza.
· Conad Mozzarella: 125 g package and 3×125 g package, lot N5205D, expiration date August 15, 2025.
· Mozzarella Valbontà (Penny Market), 4×125 g package, lot N5205E, expiration date August 17, 2025.
· Carrefour Classic Maxi Pack Mozzarella, 3×125 g package, lot N5205E, expiration date August 18, 2025.
· Mozzarella Latbri, 125 g package, lot N5205D, expiration date August 22, 2025.
Italian authorities are calling on citizens who may have purchased these products not to consume them under any circumstances, but to immediately return them to the store where they were purchased.
