About 2 million koran shells will be released into Lake Ohrid this year to save the endemic species from extinction.
At the Koran festival organized in the lakeside city for the second year in a row, 50,000 rasat were thrown, while there was no shortage of diverse dishes and festive elements.
Compared to the previous year, 200 thousand more fish will be released into the lake. In addition to koran in Pogradec, the aim is to increase the number of carp fish for the preservation and enrichment of the lake, but also in the service of tourism.
According to the Prefect of the Municipality of Pogradec, Nertil Jole, the Quran should receive special attention, as it not only serves the environmental but also the touristic values of the city.
For tour operators, korani remains the favorite dish of tourists, which requires its cooking skills, but this year it is difficult to find on the market and its price has reached extremely high values.
The Koran Festival is one of the most important events that has been taking place for two years in the city of Pogradec and that attracts the attention of many visitors.
