FORMULA 1/ Former world champion, Hamilton: I am convinced, in 2026 we will win the title

With his sights set on the second half of the season, Lewis Hamilton did not hesitate to show his full confidence in Ferrari's 2026 project.
Despite his performance in Hungary, where he crossed the finish line in 12th place in a weekend to forget, the Briton admitted, in a chat with F1.com, that he had been keeping notes to help the team end its title drought. Inspired by his winning spells with McLaren and Mercedes, he met with the heads of each of the different departments to hand over the documents he had collected.
" I've had a lot of meetings, so I've called a lot of meetings with the team bosses. I've sat down with John (Elkann, Ferrari president, Benedetto Vignan (Ferrari chief executive) and Fredi (Vaser, Ferrari F1 team principal) ," he explains.
" I met with the head of car development, Loik (Serra), but also with the heads of the different departments, to talk about next year's engine, next year's front suspension, next year's rear suspension, about the things we want, as well as the problems we have with the car ," he highlighted at the weekend in Belgium.
Although the notes focused on next season's car, they also included specifications that needed to be improved this year.
" The other document was about the car itself, the current problems I have with it, some things I want to include in next year's car and others that need to be worked on and changed for next year," he said.
Before the day in Budapest, Lewis was asked about the aforementioned documents, specifically what they included.
“ I can't tell you anything,” he smiled at first. “Everyone seems to ask about them, but it's just a Ward document ,” he continued. He was asked again whether the notes were positive or negative, to which he answered curtly.
" Again... I think the only thing I can say is that the team has all the ingredients to win. They have all the ingredients to win the World Championship," Lewis admitted. However, the number "44" knows that "ingredients" alone are not enough for Maranello to end a drought that has plagued them since 2008. "It's literally about getting everything in order and running smoothly, without stress, and that's what we're all trying to do ," Hamilton concluded.
