Maduro denounces the landing of US troops on the coast of Venezuela: Immoral and illegal action

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said Friday, during an event to "defend national sovereignty and peace," that the deployment of troops announced by the US government in the Caribbean is part of a plan that is "immoral, criminal and illegal."
"What they threaten to try to do against Venezuela, regime change, a terrorist military attack, is immoral, criminal and illegal ," Maduro told the Latin American country's parliament.
"It's an issue that has to do with peace, international law, in Latin America and the Caribbean."
"When someone attacks one country in Latin America, they attack all the others, when they threaten one country, they threaten all the others ," he added.
The administration of US President Donald Trump announced a few days ago an operation against "drug trafficking" in the Caribbean, with the participation of naval, air and ground elements.
According to sources in the US government and media, three landing ships with helicopters, three destroyers equipped with missiles and the Aegis system, at least one submarine and other resources will be deployed near Venezuela, as well as up to 4,000 sailors.
Earlier this month, Washington doubled to $50 million the amount of the reward it is offering for information leading to the arrest of President Maduro for "drug trafficking."
"It is time to show courage, to focus efforts, to unite the national will, to put aside differences."
"It is time for Venezuela to speak with one voice, the voice of truth, the voice of the homeland, the voice of the right we have for peace, for development, for harmony," said the Venezuelan president.
The day before yesterday, the president called on the National Guard, reservists and "all the people" to mobilize over the weekend to confront the "threats" of the United States.
Earlier this week, Maduro had already said that he was activating a special plan that envisages the deployment of 4.5 million guardsmen throughout "the entire" territory of Venezuela.
This body, which officially has 5 million members, is made up of citizens who support the ideology of the late former president Hugo Chavez, whose political heir Maduro presents himself as.
Washington does not recognize the results of the last two presidential elections in Venezuela, in which Maduro was re-elected.
He accuses him of being the head of what he calls the Cártel de los Soles "the devil's cartel", a criminal organization in which he also implicates officials from his own government and the Venezuelan armed forces.
Caracas objects, saying that no such organization exists.
