Fire in Fushë-Arrëz threatens homes, aerial intervention required

Three fires were reported this afternoon in the Fushë-Arrëz area, Shkodra district. After the first two in the Blerim Unit, another fire broke out late in the afternoon in the forests near the village of Kryezi, Qada e Malit Unit, which also threatens residents, according to local authorities.
The fires are spreading rapidly due to the wind. Intervention from the ground is considered extremely difficult as the flames have gotten out of control.
The head of the Forestry Department, Artmir Doda, said that the situation is difficult and requested the help of the Army and residents. He said that there are 3 active fires that are burning areas with vegetation, forests, mainly pine trees.
"The fire in Kryezi is favored by the wind and endangers homes, we are asking for help to extinguish the flames and save lives. We suspect that it is an intentional fire ," he said.
The head of the Fushë Arrëzi Emergency Department said that in the village of Kryezi, the fire is strong and endangers the lives of the residents. He appealed for help from the air.
"As you can see, the flames are out of control and we cannot operate from the ground. We need air intervention, we hope it will come and save people," he said.
