Can the opposition gain politically from the 'failure' of tourism?

Once again, the leader of the opposition in Albania has not hidden his excitement about the possible 'failure' of tourism. He has done so in the past. He did so again today, as he released a video of a journalist asking someone in a coastal village and the person complaining that tourism had fallen, given that two tourists had started drinking a beer. Beyond the media scoop, this given, taken and presented by the leader of the largest opposition party as the failure of tourism, and therefore as the failure of the government, makes no sense and is more than absurd.
In fact, the opposition should rejoice in the development of tourism, should encourage this vital sector for the economy, and should be satisfied with the enrichment and economic development of the people, because the richer and more economically developed Albanians are, the more independent and the less they will feel the need for the state.
However, given the barrenness of causes, this grasping at the issue of tourism is neither productive, nor is it an argument that can bring votes or support to the opposition.
Not to mention that the government cannot be attacked for something that, in fact, is neither its merit nor its fault, because if you accuse the government of this year's failure, it means recognizing its merits for the previous year. Likewise, the opposite is also true.
The development of tourism, its boom or slowdown, is neither an Albanian nor a local issue. There was a great development immediately after the opening after the pandemic, it seems that there is a slowdown as a result of regional developments and conflicts, but something like this is not only Albanian. The same thing happens with neighboring countries or further afield.
I'm not talking about the official data that presents a different reality, which still makes Albania accessible and visitable by foreigners. And this is good news.
Of course, Albanian tourism, having a short tradition, has a multitude of problems. Just as the government and local authorities can contribute and give more to the development of sustainable and competitive tourism. Less taxes, more fight against informality in this sector and listening to the problems and concerns of tourist operators, would be a valuable contribution.
But to rejoice over the 'failure' of tourism means to rejoice over the economic failure of the citizens of your country, and the poorer and more economic problems people and businesses have, the more they will feel the need for politics, parties or government, which not only does not help the opposition, but also further deepens its gap with the Albanian electorate.
