Why is everyone in the DP competing for Berisha's 'bust'?

After the May 11 elections, instead of the Democratic Party producing an internal debate about the electoral failure, it has immersed itself in a ridiculous competition over who caresses Sali Berisha's lap the most.

If we analyze the public reactions of the DP deputies, those who remained and those who left, a strange commonality emerges: everyone is to blame for the defeat, except Berisha.

It's not just the 'old guard' of this party, but the surprise lies in the voices that should appear moderate and objective, who have lined up in the same absurd and ridiculous trench.

For the sake of truth, the expression that "without Berisha, the DP becomes fourteen pieces" is not entirely untrue.

Berisha is simultaneously the 'strongest' and weakest point of this party.

His strength lies in his ability to keep a divided group under control, while his weakness lies in the fact that he does not enable the DP to come to power, does not allow its opening and democratization, and does not enable a normal renewal, due to sectarian and tribal mentality.

At the root of this situation lies the political culture of the absolute leader, who is not challenged, not criticized, and not replaced.

Thus, the Democratic Party is in a state of 'stand by' waiting for Berisha's legacy. Instead of ideas, program, debate and change, it offers a competition to keep Berisha's 'bust' standing, because his fall overthrows the entire current 'status quo' of that party, which can neither win nor pave the way for others to grow and win. At the same time, it is made up of political figures who have not known how to cast shadows, but are in that party as a result of the shadows of others.

In this sense, this feverish competition between old and new MPs is done only out of fear that "the other", and not themselves, will inherit the leadership, because under Berisha everyone is in a life-or-death conflict with everyone else, no one loves anyone and everyone is full of themselves and has big dreams of being the successor, because only they deserve it and only they do it.

Therefore, even today, the only competition that takes place in the DP is that of the deputies who do not hold any debate other than the fact that everyone is to blame for the defeat, except Berisha, because this is the only way they hope to receive his 'blessing' when the time comes and this is the only way they hope to prevent others from having the same opportunity.
