Bureaucracy is avoided for professional drivers, CAP becomes part of the driving

This Wednesday, it was announced that the Certificate of Professional Training, CAP, will no longer be issued as a separate document for drivers, but will be automatically included in the driving license through Code 95.

The announcement was made by the General Directorate of Road Transport Services, which considers this as a step towards simplifying procedures and complying with European Union standards.

Code 95 is a standard note that proves the professional qualification of drivers who carry out freight or passenger transport for hire or reward. Until now, the CAP has been issued as a separate document and has been mandatory for drivers working professionally in the transport sector. With the new amendment, the data for this certificate will be integrated into the license, without the need for a separate card.

According to the DPSHTRR, this change aims to reduce the number of necessary documents, reduce costs for citizens, and avoid additional procedures for obtaining or replacing CAP.

The inclusion of this information in the driving license is also considered an improvement in terms of digitalization and standardization of documentation for professional drivers.

Drivers who apply for a driving license and attend CAP training will have it automatically reflected in the new document.

The change does not affect the content of the training or the criteria that a driver must meet to obtain the certificate, but only concerns the format and method of its administration.

The CAP Certificate of Professional Training is for professional drivers who drive vehicles that are important for the transport of goods or passengers for hire. This means that it is not for drivers who use the car only for personal use, but for those who work professionally, such as drivers of trucks, buses, taxis or other public or commercial transport vehicles.
