These are invented circumstances and if you base the debate on invented circumstances, then a problem that is dramatic becomes ridiculous.
The truth of the DP is not that it will not open up, that it does not want a new leader, or that it is not productive. The truth of the DP is that there is no longer any interest in it. And this is a great drama.
Sali Berisha has made the DP irrelevant, having made it unshakable, unmotivated as a party and above all without prospects.
Declaring that he is God's messenger to never leave the DP and seeing that he is not interested in winning elections but in having activism for his own problems, the DP is no longer an offer for Albanian society. It is a family project destined to shrink and degrade into a band of bajraktars.
These calls from Alimehmeti to Nard Ndoka for Berisha to be the leader and to look at other problems make this debate ridiculous.
The fact that the DP is irrelevant, unshakable and above all without prospects is precisely related to the fact that Sali Berisha is at its head and has no intention of competing, no intention of admitting defeat, no intention of renewing the party for victory.
When people talk about the DP needing to open up, the DP needing to have a competition, or the DP needing to have a debate, it seems like they want to find new soldiers for the DP pharaoh to wall up his grave with, and not like they want to find a new leader and create a new party.
The offer to join this debate or this invented reality in the DP is an expired offer from the beginning.
The remaining DP is calling on its remnants to mobilize and once again save Berisha. Berisha does not need them, they are tiring themselves in vain. Defeat, which is the hardest thing for a leader, is a solved problem for Berisha: to blame the opponent. The renewal of the party, which is an obligation, is also a solved problem because he has appointed himself the messenger of God.
Then these ridiculous rumors that Berisha should re-establish the DP, since it was a comeback four years ago, are even more ridiculous. Berisha has never returned to the DP. Berisha has been there for 35 years at its head, sometimes with delegates and sometimes himself. Every time the delegates got out of line, he would remove them. He removed Selami by force, for a month because he was in power. He removed Luli for several months with sticks because he was not in power. But he has not returned, because he has been there. A leader returns when he defeats an opponent who expelled him from the DP.
Berisha has only expelled and has not persuaded anyone from the DP to return. He has simply decided now not to delegate anyone until he dies. Then wait, because it is a biological issue, it is not a political issue. When God resolves it, start this debate. Now it is a debate on how to make Berisha's old age pleasant by renewing his soldiers. Leave him alone, because he is not old enough to get used to young people. It is good that they are around.
