Multifaceted artist Bujar Kapexhiu was invited to the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, to recount his long and diverse life and work.

Born in Tirana, Kapexhiu has distinguished himself as an actor, director and later as a cartoonist. He said that although he received the right to study engineering, his love for theater triumphed, which led him to compete and enter the Institute of Arts, and this without the knowledge of his parents, from whom he kept it a secret for almost two years, until he was appointed to be a director at the Tirana Estrada.

"I was born in Tirana, in a neighborhood near the Artistic High School, "Qamil Guranjaku" Street. I was born and raised on that street and I left in 1972 because our one-story adobe houses, those large gardens with beautiful fruit trees and the construction of palaces began. With nostalgia when I sometimes pass by, I find the house, the gate...

My mother worked as a cook and seamstress her entire life, and she made all the clothes.

I was born in Tirana, but my parents, my father is from Dibra e Madhe who came in 1013, my mother was from Korça. If you take the map and fold it in half, Dibra falls on Korça.

I wasn't a naughty child, but I was agile, mobile, and I was involved in neighborhood theater as a child.

My sister and brother were twins. Now they are probably in heaven and watching us from above. My sister left 3-4 years ago, my brother sooner.

Adolescence for me was a time when I had a great time, a good time, a pleasant time. I was a very good student, I graduated from the "Kosova" school.

My first love was when I was 10-12 years old, thinking of someone I had in the neighborhood, who I felt very close to. I was lucky enough to have a house with a yard full of fruit and in the middle there was a big mulberry tree where the whole neighborhood would gather when it was shaken and when it grew to its maximum, it turned pink. Then that girl came along. It remained a platonic desire and pleasure when we were together.

Since I was little, I have been involved in theater, shadow theater with curtains when we put lights behind them, I have been involved in painting, I used to recite a lot. When guests came to the house, I would say to my mother: Should I start reciting? Every year I would win camp tickets for recitations, in Durrës, in Vlora, Pogradec.

In high school, the family conflict began. My parents wanted me to become an engineer because at that time doctors and engineers were considered valuable. They wanted me to become an architect, since I was interested in painting. I wanted theater. I got the right to study civil engineering and I finished the first year. At this time, when I was doing my geodesy internship, Dhimitër Pecani, who was in the first year of acting, came and told me to come because the competition had started. I got permission from the professor and took the test. After I recited, the teachers told me I won.

My parents found out after two years that I was an actor. My mother told me that in the first year I did a lot of drawings, but not now. We do them at school, I told her.

"My mother was in the kitchen, my father in the mechanic's office, while I continued my schooling and when I finished they were very happy that all my engineering friends were sent to the north, they kept me in Tirana. I was appointed director at the Tirana Estrada, since I dealt with humor, with caricature," Kapexhiu confessed.
